The ‘jog dial’ makes it very simple to select stitches you require quickly, and needle threading is complete in no time thanks to the built-in needle threader. With the LCD screen you can see at a glance information about the stitch width and length. Simplicity does not mean a compromise on features – there are 16 stitches to choose from, including 3 different buttonholes, to give that professional looking finish.

The Brother Innov-is A16 is the entry level machine of the Brother A series. It's a good sturdy machine offering all the basic stitches you will need for dressmaking which includes 3 different types of automatic buttonholes, blind hem stitches for hemming both woven fabrics and stretch fabrics, zig-zag stitch, darning stitches and reinforcement stitches. The model is supplied with a selection of presser feet that enable you to give your garments that professional finish. Its not only great for dressmaking but also quilting and general crafts as it handles most fabrics well.
It has the easiest needle threader you will ever use at this level; you can thread your needle with one hand!
For those who like to do free motion quilting and embroidery, the feed dogs are dropped with ease by sliding the switch on the back - no need to use a feed cover plate
Brother offer a wide selection of additional feet for this machine that can be purchased separately. So, if you like to sew with vinyl, think about purchasing a 'non-stick' foot or if you are working with fabrics with a pile then a walking foot is a must
