How to use the Beading foot, Narrow Groove:

Suitable for sewing 2mm or less diameter beads.
Sewing on strung beads or pearls is popular for bridal wear, evening wear, smart/casual wear and crafts. The beading foot is a blessing that makes a tedious task pleasurable.

Note: Ensure to press the Lockout key when attaching and detaching the foot. For models without the Lockout key, turn the power switch off when attaching and detaching the foot.

Machine settings:

  • Stitch pattern: Zigzag stitch (centre needle position)
  • Needle: #11/75 or blue needle

Note: Please refer to your machine's instruction manual for presser foot attachment and removal information.

To sew:

  1. Adjust the stitch width and length to suit bead size.
  2. Place a string of beads or pearls under the groove on the bottom of the foot.
  3. Sew over the beads or pearls while guiding the fabric.

How to use the Edge Guide foot:

The guide of the foot aligns edges/seams of fabric so that neatly parallel edge stitching and topstitching can be achieved with ease.

Adjust the guide by turning the screw to match the edge/seam.

Note: Ensure to press the Lockout key when attaching and detaching the foot. For models without the Lockout key, turn the power switch off when attaching and detaching the foot.

Machine settings:

  • Stitch pattern: Straight stitch (adjust the needle drop position as necessary)

Note: Please refer to your machine's instruction manual for presser foot attachment and removal information.

To sew:

  1. Lower the needle at the starting point by turning the hand wheel.
  2. Lower the foot and turn the adjusting screw to align the guide with the fabric edge.
  3. Sew while guiding the fabric edge along the guide.

Note: The guide's scale is marked in 1mm units.

How to use the Gathering foot:

Ideal for creating soft gather in lightweight fabrics, the gathering foot makes it simple to create the gather that you want. The underside of the foot is raised behind the needle with an additional metal plate in front of the needle to produce gathers on a single layer of fabric.
Take the hassle out of gathering with the handy gathering foot.

Note: Ensure to press the Lockout key when attaching and detaching the foot. For models without the Lockout key, turn the power switch off when attaching and detaching the foot.

To attach:

  • Push up the presser foot lifter and hold it at the highest postition.
  • Hang the rear pin of the foot on the spur of the foot holder and lower the foot lifter slowly until the foot snaps to fit.

To detach:

  • Press the lever of the foot holder while pushing up and holding the foot lifter at the highest position to detach the foot.

Machine settings:

  • Stitch pattern: Straight stitch (centre needle position)
  • Stitch length: 3-5
  • Thread tension: Tighten as desired

To sew:

Sew on one layer of fabric. Do not pull the fabric. The amount of the gathers depends on the weight of the fabric, stitch length and needle thread tension.
Adjust them by test sewing.

How to use the Hemmer foot 6mm:

Machine settings:

  • Stitch pattern: Straight stitch (centre needle position)
  • Stitch length: 1-2.5
  • Fabric: Light to medium

  3. Sew 3 or 4 stitches while pulling the needle and bobbin threads.

  5. Lower the foot, then sew while lifting up the adge of the fabric to keep it feeding into the curl smoothly and evenly.
  6. Trim about 12mm (1/2") from the corners to reduce the bulk.

Note: Please refer to your machine's instruction manual for presser foot attachment and removal information.

How to use the Hemmer foot 4mm:

Machine settings:

  • Stitch pattern: Straight stitch (centre needle position)
  • Stitch length: 1-2.5
  • Fabric: Light to medium

Note: Please refer to your machine's instruction manual for presser foot attachment and removal information.

How to use the Ribbon Sequin foot:

It is now so much easier to attach ribbons and even sequins with the help of the ribbon/sequin foot. This foot is designed with guides through which ribbons or strung sequins can be inserted, allowing them to feed through evenly as you sew.

Note: Ensure to press the Lockout key when attaching and detaching the foot. For models without the Lockout key, turn the power switch off when attaching and detaching the foot.

Machine settings:

  • Stitch pattern: Decorative stitches (centre needle position)

Note: Please refer to your machine's instruction manual for presser foot attachment and removal information.

To sew:

  1. Pass the ribbon through the guide according to the ribbon width.
    * Do not turn the screw
  2. Pull 2-3cm (1") of the ribbon under the guide bar to the rear and under the foot.
  3. Pierce the cloth with the needle and start sewing.

Note: When guiding the ribbon, hold the ribbon slightly upward to guide it through the upper part of the opening, secure the stitch by sewing locking stitches at the beginning and the end.

How to use the Concealed Zipper foot:

The concealed zipper foot is essential if you want to fit these zips successfully and have that professional finish.

Note: Ensure to press the Lockout key when attaching and detaching the foot. For models without the Lockout key, turn the power switch off when attaching and detaching the foot.

Preparation:

  1. Prepare a concealed zipper 2cm (3/4") longer than the opening size.
  2. Place the right sides of the fabric together.
  3. Attach zigzag foot and select Lock-a-Matic stitch.
Sew to the end of the opening with a 2cm (3/4") seam allowance.
  4. Baste the opening 0.3cm (1/8") inside of the seam line and secure the seam by pressing the reverse button.
  5. Fold up the left seam allowance.
  6. Open the zipper and place the right teeth next to the fold and pin the zipper tape in place.

Sewing the right side of the zipper teeth:

  1. Attach the concealed zipper foot and select the straight stitch with the centre needle position.
  2. Raise the right teeth of the zipper and lower the foot so the left groove of the foot catches the zipper teeth.
  3. Stitch through the zipper tape and fabric up to the end of the opening.
  4. Reverse the stitches to secure the seam.

Sewing the left side of the zipper tape:

  1. Replace the foot with the zipper foot E (refer to your sewing machine manual for attaching the zipper foot or adjusting needle drop position).
  2. Close the zipper. Turn and fold the garment fabric to the right.
  3. Seam along the edge of the zipper tape and reverse the stitches 2cm (3/4") before the zipper bottom.

Sewing the right side of the zipper tape:

  1. Adjust needle drop position or re-attach the foot so the needle drops to the left of the foot.
  2. Turn and fold the garment fabric to the left.
  3. Seam along the edge of the zipper tape and reverse the stitches 2cm (3/4") before the zipper bottom.

Sewing the left side of the zipper teeth:

  1. Remove the basting stitches.
  2. Open the zipper and insert the pull tab between fabric and zipper tape to allow the slider to reach the stopper.
  3. Replace the foot with the concealed zipper foot. Select the straight stitch with the centre needle position.
  4. Raise the left teeth of the zipper and lower the foot so the right groove of the foot catches the zipper teeth.
  5. Stitch through the zipper tape and fabric up to the end of the zipper opening.
  6. Reverse the stitches to secure the seam.

Close the zipper and slide up the stopper to 0.3cm (1/8") below the end of the zipper opening. Fasten the stopper with pliers.
