Quickly and easily get creative with the SH40 electronic sewing machine.

With 40 utility and decorative sewing stitches to choose from, including five different styles of one-step buttonhole, you’ll find the right look for whatever you’re working on. Being able to change the stitch length and width, and easily drop the feed dogs, gives you even more creative versatility.

Learning your craft and planning your new creative make is more than enough to think about. That’s why Brother have given the SH40 a slide speed control, Start/Stop button and reverse sewing button. They’re all handily located on the central control panel, so you can keep your hands on the most important thing – your sewing.

With F.A.S.T bobbin winding, a drop in bobbin and bright LED sewing light you’ll be set up to sew incredibly quickly.

Easy stitch selection

The easy stitch selection allows you to view information on the LCD screen such as stitch number, length, width and presser foot to be used for each stitch.

Free arm

The machine converts from flat bed to free arm by simply removing the extension table. Ideal for sewing around cylindrical items such as trouser legs, sleeves, bags or for attaching pockets.

Built in needle threader

Use the needle threader for fast and simple threading as it saves time by automatically feeding the thread through the needle's eye.

LED sewing light

The LED sewing light effectively lights the sewing area. It uses a fraction of the power of a traditional bulb and it will last the life of the machine.

Top loading bobbin

The easy-to-view bobbin window tells you at a glance when your bobbin is low on thread. Simply drop in a full bobbin and the Quick-Set feature has you ready to sew immediately.

Seven point feed dog

The seven-point feed dogs effortlessly creates smooth, even stitches on various fabrics from light silk to heavy denim.

Drop feed

The drop feed lever is for the easy lowering of the feed dogs for free motion or freehand sewing used in quilting, embroidery and monogramming.

1 step buttonholes

The 1 step auto-size buttonholer creates perfectly balanced buttonholes in 5 styles. Each one a perfect size to match the button.
